Gurdwara Kartapur |
Kartarpura district Narowal, Pakistan was first established
by Guru Dev Nanak Sahab in his early life. When Baba Guru Nanak Dev passed
away, Hindu and Muslim raised their voice to perform their last pilgrimages
according to their religion. That’s why a Samadh lies in the Gurdwara and grave
lies on the premises as the reminder of this discord.
The Gurdwara is located near a small village named Kothay
Pind on the west bank of river Ravi. This Gurdwara can also be seen from the Dehra
Baba Nanak the other side of the border in India. These two places are the most
holiest places in Sikhism. Now the government from both is deciding to let the
Yatris come and visit both Gurdwaras without visa as it lies only 3km from each
other.
